funk and groove of modern rhythms with the angst and ire of folk vocals
and lyrics

The Folk Hop label is committed to promoting the folk hop sound,
as well as other related musical genres.
What is the folk hop sound? It's a fusion of modern rhythms with folk's
soul searching lyrics and instruments. Acoustic guitar and vocals over a
drum machine would be one example. A lot of Beck's music fits in with the
folk hop style, even though he's often mis-identified as folk punk.
Although some of Zoetrope's songs are straight out techno, songs like 24
Hours are a perfect example of the folk hop sound.
